Alialujah Choir “A House A Home” (dir. Daniel Fickle)
When you want to execute any creative visual project, production design is something you really need to consider. Director Daniel Fickle and production designer Mark Smith have managed to add their own style to this process, shown clearly in the video they made for Portlanders Alialujah Choir. The video opens with an artist who sketches deer heads, isolated in a small cube-like room surrounded by his unique possessions and creations. Soon enough he discovers a young women in a room next to his, and they explore what seems like an underground world. I won’t spoil the ending, which ultimately defines what is going on in the video, but what really drives the narrative are the gorgeously-designed sets.
